IHCAP Newsletter

The Semi-Annual Newsletter was created for numerous purposes:  disseminating information pertaining to IHCAPs annual festivities and Ad Hoc Special Events;  Motivating, encouraging and promoting unity; serves as a representational tool to help reach out, access and mobilize a greater mass of participants/spectators involvement;  acknowledges sponsors and many of IHCAPs supporters.  And with the intent to be distributed to Central American Independence Day Parade and Festival attendees.

THE CENTRAL AMERICAN INDEPENDENCE DAY CELEBRATION!

1The Central American Independence Day Celebration is produced and presented by IHCAP, INC., in obsrvance of the anniversary of Central America's Independence Day;  a celebration that is traditionally held during the second (2nd) Sunday of the month of September.  The Central American Independence Day Celebration (C.A.I.D.C) attractions include the "Central American Independence Day Parade" and the "Central American Music Festival."

 

These cultural community events are FREE  and open to the general public - and are designed to celebrate and commemorate the 196th anniversary of Central America's Independence from Spain [Republic of El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Nicaragua and Costa Rica (September 15, 1821) culture and heritage with pride while celebrating in brotherhood with our neighboring countries Belize, Panama and friends.

The Central American Independence Parade

The parade line-up start between 178th & 179th Street and Southern Boulevard; the parade procession steps off of East Tremont Avenue and Southern Boulevard (87th Blvd. Happy Land Monument), turning onto Boston Road and disbanding at Charlotte Street and Crotona Park East.

The Central American Music Festival

The Festival immediately follows the parade in the heart of Crotona Park (between Crotona Avenue and Claremont Parkway.)  Where attendees gather to enjoy stage performances and other type of entertainment.  This highly anticipated and cherished cultural community event is FREE and open to the general public.  


Visit our Festival Marketplace - Offers various merchants with the opportunity to participate and contribute towards their fundraising efforts and increase IHCAPs diversification of revenue resourcs to better serve the needs of its target audience and fulfill its organizational goals.

 

Food/Beverage vendors & Arts/Crafts Exhibitors: 

Consumers get to enjoy traditional Central American dishes - baleadas, carne asada (grilled steak, centralamerican style), specialized drinks (Orchata, tamarindo etc.)  Arts&Craft: T-Shirts are sold, hats, sombreros, and other artifacts.

Corporate Sponsorship/Partnership opportunities:

Connects supporters with neighborhood leaders, IHCAP members, Staff/Volunteers and other stakeholders from public/private sectors in the Bronx county & throughout New York State.  These signature fundraising events allows corporate partners, organizations and contributors with the opportunity to be recognized for their involvement and support of the Central American community.
